Our Hometown
Jefferson City is the State Capital of Missouri and is located in Cole County. The City is 37.58 square miles with a population of 42,838 (2018). According to the Jefferson City Chamber of Commerce the daytime population increases to approximately 70,000. We have two major hospitals along with a tremendous variety of shops, restaurants, & recreational activities. We have two public and one private high schools within the city limits and four additional high schools within Cole County.
The Jefferson City Police Department consists of a diverse group of professionals from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. From our Police Officers to our civilian positions, we offer rewarding career paths that ensure public safety and community engagement.

Our Facility
The Jefferson City Police Department operates out of the Thomas E Whitecotton Law Enforcement Center. Onsite we have our Patrol Officers, Traffic Unit, Detectives, School Resource Officers, Community Action Team, 911 Communications Center, Police Records, and a
large training classroom.
